Our courses
Four one-day courses, delivered live to your team - online or at your offices. Every course is hands-on, taught in plain English, and built around real business examples.
Copilot in Excel
Your team may already have Copilot in Excel, but many users are not fully utilising it. A one-day training course can change that. They will learn how to ask clear business questions and get useful answers, such as which region is underperforming, what customers are complaining about, and how to turn raw data into summary tables and charts much faster. The course also explains privacy and Microsoft 365 security in simple terms, so people understand how their data is handled. By the end of the day, each person will have a clear list of ways they can use Copilot in their own role, so they can start applying it straight away.
Key topics
- What Copilot in Excel is, and how it works within Microsoft 365 enterprise security
- Structuring data so Copilot gives reliable answers
- Building and explaining formulas, including lookups, without writing them by hand
- Personalisation and .Rules so Copilot follows your house formatting every time
- Building summary tables, charts, pivot tables and slicers by prompt
- Working with unstructured text - summarising, classifying, categorising and extracting
- Cleaning up messy data against a checklist
- Where Copilot uses Python in Excel, and what that unlocks

Excel Pivot Tables
In many teams, someone spends hours each month rebuilding the same report by hand. Pivot tables can do this work in just a few clicks. This one-day course takes complete beginners through the basics and shows them how to answer business questions quickly. Delegates work through real sales examples, practise after each section, and finish by building an interactive dashboard from a new data set. They can also bring their own files and build something useful during the course, so they leave with practical work already done.
Key topics
- Structuring a table of data properly, and why it matters later
- Building a first pivot table - the four areas, dimensions and measures, refreshing
- Aggregation beyond Sum - average, max, min, count - and custom groups
- Date grouping, year-on-year comparison and trend charts
- Filtering, Top 10 analysis, slicers and timelines driving several tables at once
- Show Values As - percentage contribution, running totals, variance and ranking
- Frequency analysis and banding
- Conditional formatting and building an interactive dashboard
- A cold capstone brief using HR data, plus time on their own files
Duration: 1 day · Delivered in-house at your offices or online
Ask about an in-house date and stop paying for reports that could rebuild themselves.
Excel Power Query
Power Query helps when you receive messy files that need the same clean-up every month. Instead of deleting rows, splitting columns, and copying in new figures by hand, you record the steps once and run them again with one click. This saves a lot of time for finance and operations teams and reduces the risk of mistakes. The course is taught using the Power Query menus, so no coding is needed. By the end of the day, delegates will know how to bring in data from systems, files, and the web, clean it up, and refresh the process when new data arrives.
Key topics
- What Power Query is, where it came from and which systems it runs on
- Core transformations - removing header and footer rows, filtering, data types, renaming, find and replace
- Custom columns, calculations, date fields and conditional logic
- Merging data from another source, and appending new periods of data
- Group By for building summary tables at source
- A full messy data clean-up using interface tools only
- Connecting to databases, CSV and text, web, XML, JSON and other Excel tables
- Load To options - where the output lands and why it matters
- An introduction to the M language and the script editor

Excel Power Pivot
Power Pivot helps Excel work more like a proper analysis tool. It can handle more data than a normal worksheet, connect tables together, and create calculations that can be reused across reports. This means figures like margin, growth, and year-to-date totals stay consistent, no matter who builds the report. If your team currently rebuilds year-on-year or same-period-last-year reports by hand, Power Pivot can remove a lot of that repeated work. In this course, delegates use four years of transaction data and leave with a working model they can learn from and build on.
Key topics
- What Power Pivot is, and loading and browsing data in the data model
- Pivot tables from the model, aggregation methods, slicers and filtering
- Calculated columns - sales, cost, profit, and setting field formats correctly
- Date fields, sort-by columns and building a proper date table
- IF and SWITCH for business logic
- Measures against calculated columns, and when to use each
- Core DAX - sums, ratios, distinct counts and CALCULATE with filters
- Time intelligence - previous month, same period last year, year-to-date and quarter-to-date
- Relationships between tables, and calculating across them
- Sets, KPIs and hierarchies
